BIG TURNOUT AT NEECHI COMMONS JOB FAIR
In spite of very nasty weather, some 350 applicants turned out to Neechi’s neighbourhood job fair on October 4, 2012. Many people stood in line for up to an hour waiting to get into one of the four orientation sessions run throughout the day. 
In addition to the amazing turnout, there was a lot of enthusiasm for the Neechi vision of cooperative ownership, dignified employment, self-reliance, economic healing, neighbourhood revitalization, local foods and cultural pride. The job fair was held in cooperation with the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development at the Aboriginal Centre, 181 Higgins Ave. Beyond the Job Fair, many other job applications were received at Neechi’s existing store at 325 Dufferin Ave. and on-line.
